Chelsea pointed out something to me tonight that I never noticed about Babylon 5 before. The Narns are based on the Jews. It's so obvious but I never picked up on it before. That is all.
Sigh. Let me guess: what's *really* going on is that Beast's Softpaws have all fallen off and you need someone to help you put them back on. Am I right?
No, no, the Narn are the Riders of Rohan! Didn't you know that B5 is just a SF version of Lord of the Rings?
:P
In seriousness, I don't see it. The Narn could be any beaten people - which our world has too many of throughout history and today. I wouldn't have before, but I could easily see someone claiming the Narn are Palestinians whose home is invaded by outsiders that subject them to poverty and the Narn then resort to terrorist attacks until they can drive the enemy out of their homeland. And no, I'm not supporting either side in that conflict in real life - just saying how it could easily be used as a metaphor. Especially as the Narn beliefs are closer to Islam than Judaism, as far as I can tell.
Plus we never saw a Narn mother lay a guilt trip on her pouchlings. ;)
