So, the little country bird went to the big city last week, and had a fabulous time!
I went to stay with the lovely aisling_door and her family on Long Island. Such good people. Her dad immediately started treating me like one of the family, including admonitions to "Eat! Eat!", and I got to meet her younger brother and the bulldog. Her mum was at a reunion ( Read more... ) -

Read-a-thon post-mortem
Wooooooohoooooo!
I (mostly) completed my first read-a-thon ever! I made 21 of the 24 hours...I finally fell asleep at 5 am. I attribute my success in being awake that long partly to my housemate who handled the caffeine issue and some of the humor. Witness my midnight cappuccino:
