It's kind of scary that there are 12 communities and 179 users on livejournal that have white pride listed as an interest.

There were a couple of people that were obviously white power types that added me quite a while ago. Both deleted me soon after. I didn't fight them heading out the door.

Not that I fight anyone doing that :P

Yep. It's not like I check every person's userinfo to find out if they're racist hon. And I'm not generally going to delete someone because they have differing opinions (has to be pretty extreme).

It can be scary but it's also their freedom of speech, we may not agree with it but it would also be scary if everyone was either far left or far right. :/ You know what I'm saying ^_^ I mean there's all these vegetarian/vegan communities and so there's a meatlovers community too :P

There is a difference between "white pride" and "white power". There is nothing inherently wrong with being proud to be white, it's when you start treating people who aren't white as inferior that you have a problem.

"White pride" likely means different things to different people - you shouldn't confuse that.

I know the difference between them. And I've also seen the interaction in many of the communities that have it listed. Many of the ones that use it...don't know the difference themselves. But I guess we can chalk that up to the ignorance of youth (fuck do I sound old lately)

And ultimately user infos are all about first impressions right? If I see that on someones user info I'm going to immediately be somewhat skeptical. I'm of course not going to judge them by that one interest...since that would make me quite the hypocrite ;)
