Quick question: I'm guessing that since this is an AU RP, characters will need to have surnames. If my character doesn't canonly have a surname, should that be left alone or should I come up with something that would make sense for them? :Va Thanks in advance.
You can come up with one on your own as long as you specify in the app that it's non-canon; or you can just leave it alone and have it sort of handwaved away that the character does have a surname that the prison staff is aware of, but that it never comes up in-character. Either choice would be valid.
Hi, was wondering if you guys have any specific way you want something posted on the main comm? Like WHO WHAT WHERE WHEN WARNINGS or just throw up the post and note in the subject if it's locked/what time it is etc?
We have no preference for formatting, but if a post is locked then please do indicate it in the subject line. It's up to you whether or not to include the time.

Can I write the guards if I just need one for a very brief purpose? If so, do they answer certain questions (where things are located, where the CP cards are, etc-- minor, small things) when asked?
You may! They will answer a very odd set of questions about the prison as concisely as is possible. You do not need a mod to play this out, as all the answers to these questions can be made up by the player or found on our information pages

Do the cells in A, B, and C have some kind of storage for clothing (e.g. wardrobe, chest of drawers, something.) or other objects?
Also is there some kind of laundry service or laundry room available, whether free or by CP charge? And do inmates who opt to keep just the jumpsuit they started out with get a replacement as needed as well, or are they pretty much stuck in the same smelly jumpsuit unless they opt to buy another outfit to wash it in?
They do! It's a simple, cheap wooden chest of drawers.
As for the laundry, any clothes put away in the drawers or left around will ~magically~ be washed after the character wakes up from sleeping. Characters all start out with two jumpsuits.
