Moses is doing better. They don't know what the cause of the problem is, but he seems to be trying to stand and -was- trying to pee. He still won't eat, though, so he's still obviously not doing too great. There is more warmth in his back legs so his circulation has improved. These are good signs and our vet seemed guardedly optimsitic about them.

I'm glad Moses is doing better. I just hope the vet bills aren't too astronomical.

I tried to call yesterday, but I couldn't get a signal at all. Same thing this morning. Funny how it worked the first couple of times I tried it without fail, and now it's just....not. Anyway, send me an e-mail and I will e-mail you back. I don't have time right now because I should really be heading to the field site. No birds of the species I'm looking for yet, but we should get 'em today, because they caught one the day before I came.

For the dog: Next time he eats something he isn't supposed to, pour some Hydrogen Peroxide into a bowl and set it down. Being a stupid dog, he will drink it because he thinks it's water.

It will cause him to throw up ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE AND EVERYTHING he has eaten in the past 24 hours.

We actually considered that! Have you done this before? Is there any specific -kind- of hydrogen peroxide to use? Or will any garden-variety brand do?

Just regular old brands will do. We use it on Baxter all the time cause he eats EVERYTHING. We used it when he ate the ant trap and he was fine. Also when he decided chocolate should be part of his diet as a puppy.

All right. Thanks! That helps a lot. Max has a tendency to chew on lots of things he shouldn't and while he usually doesn't have any problem vomiting it up on his own, it's good to know.
