When the universe implodes tomorrow, I hope you don't get sucked into the screaming maw without knowing that despite averaging only 6 posts per month in 2012, I have, as always, loved hanging out online (and in some cases at cons/in person) with you. <3 Also, let it be known that I made these things this year.

2012: the year of Starships, con.txt, Vividcon, all of Battlestar Galactica, the end of House, kinky birthday party snacks, great variety in fannish output, and an absolutely baffling YouTube video response to Masters of War that was just barely coherent enough to make me wonder if it was real (be sure to read the whole commentary; with random toft_froggy insult, wth).

Fanwork Resolutions

2012: the reckoning

• "Be at a con where a vid of mine is screened." Check! First, I got to see Soccer Practice at con.txt. Then I showed two premieres at Vividcon-had a smashing success with Starships!-plus witnessed They Want More in one of the vidshows. Super cool and encouraging experiences.
• "Clear out WsIP, even as amnesties." Half a check. I finished the SGA tsamikos story and the Masters of War vid and let go of two House WsIP, but I didn't finish the Edmund Fitzgerald vid or finish/give up on the tentacle PWP. To do in 2013. Still, not bad.
• It wasn't an explicit (ha) goal, but I did complete a Kink Bingo. The party theme portion was a highlight of my fannish year, for sure.
• "...keep producing stuff. It sounds simple, but sometimes it's really not." Check! Also check to "less self-loathing." May 2013 hold the same.

2013

• Make [secret] vid for Club Vivid
• Make Hunger Games vid(s) that would have been for Festivids had the fandom not been disqualified
• Do True Blood S5 "all you can kink" picspam
• Post vids to AO3 (and replace defunct megaupload links)
• I would say "write more fiction," because I still fan-identify primarily as a fic writer, but vidding and nonfic/meta writing have been working for me more than fiction writing in the last year or two for various reasons, so we'll see how things evolve.
• Find a new fandom? I don't know; it's been nice to be free of obsession for a time, but I also miss having fic to read and the driving desire to write same. Of course, fandoms tend to find you rather than you having much choice in the matter.
