2011: The year Remix Redux and Kink Bingo fired up the creative engine again. Thank goodness for that. It would be wonderful if 2012 continued the momentum.

I think "Forty Years and Eight Pounds" was my best story of the year, giving yet more proof that putting a quiet bit of oneself into a character helps the story resonate with people (thanks,
perspi, for the lovely story to remix); the found poem was the most creative (thanks again,
synn, for the idea); and there's a special place in my heart for sexy little "If You Build It."
Fic goal for 2012: Write more stories. It's still a mystery why I've been so blocked. Nonfiction has been coming easier. (Ha, a pun.)

Really only the consent play essay counts; the other two were written quickly and without as much thought. And I really like that consent play essay. People's comments were amazing. I'm ashamed not to have written back to everyone; there's a goal for 2012, if not before.
Meta goal for 2012: I don't really have one, but if I did, it might be to write more kink essays or fic commentaries (on other people's stories).

I guess this was the Year of Vids for me, wow. My favorites are "Recalled to Life" (sweet and heartfelt), "Born Too Late" (am still pleased at having come up with the idea, and it's always like coming home to immerse myself in DS9) and the Humping Robot (heee). Loved "I Want More" at the time, and am still thrilled with the response, but maybe its popularity has made me love some of the others more. Also I tried out a different editing technique with "Let's Get Messy," and while not many people watched it, I think I grew a bit in making it.
Vid goal #1 for 2011 was to "have something shown at a con." Check that column five times for "They Want More" and once for "Recalled to Life." Vid goal for 2012, then, is to have a vid shown at a con that I have submitted for that purpose; the aforementioned were invited. Maybe the angry, political SGA one… maybe something not yet conceived.
Vid goal #2 for 2011 was to "finish the Lightfoot, Dylan, Oliver and femdom vids." I did the latter two ("Anything For You" and "A Girl Like You"); Dylan is the angry one just mentioned; and Lightfoot is waiting for me to learn how to do an effect in AfterEffects for one particular shot. Coming in 2012, with luck.
Recs
Also about
150 recs for Kink Bingo. (Er, more like 200 if you include the ones in the consent play essay.) Normally I wouldn't count them, but I liked a lot of these posts, and most of them include substantive blurbs.

Stats
Fics/essays: 9 (+1 amnesty)
Word count: 27,524 (+1,800 amnesty, +9,200 Mary Sue WsIP)
Vids: 7 (not counting the 2 Festivids that were technically finished in 2010)
Minutes vidded: 14.5 (ditto)
Icons: 5
Fandoms: 15 (!)
That's about the same number of fics/essays as in 2010 but 1.5 times as many words; almost twice as many vids but only 1 minute more of footage. Many, many more fandoms than in any other year I've been on LJ, though.

Overall goal for 2012 beyond what's outlined in the specific categories is… to keep producing stuff. It sounds simple, but sometimes it's really not. The rush of joy and pride from finishing something, and from getting substantive comments on it, is like nothing else. Yet getting there can be torture, gloom, despair, self-loathing, &c &c.
There: 2012: Here's to less self-loathing.
