Now that I have my new camera I finally started my "Make Whittier Shittier" project. My neighborhood is called Whittier, and there are signs that say "Make Whittier Prettier," or the less poetic "Haz Whittier Mas Bonita." My neighborhood is filled with litter, sometimes inches from garbage cans. There are garbage cans everywhere. And so this is

The one thing I hate about my neighborhood is all the litter. People are always throwing soda bottles and drink cups into my yard. I don't get that at all.

I think it also might be cultural? I don't think everyone grew up where there are garbage cans every block, so they're not used to it and don't value it.

My friend Dora grew up on a cool ranch, which was often slushy in the wintertime and so so colda! She went into the city to become a sandwich artist, but her dreams were crushed by an overly-sweet virgin! To this day she'll still flash her bright smile and say "I do, I do!" if you ask if she still wants to give it another shot.

i think you can make pretty pictures with any camera, even an iphone.. it's just much easier when you have more expensive gear. but what i particularly like about this set is that it's something i've not seen before!
