I am, too, but according to Jewish law, I don't count, because my mother's mother wasn't Jewish, and descent in the Ashkenazi tradition is strictly matrilineal.

With the women in that part of my family marrying Goys from my great-grandmother on, I just luck to have got a straight line of female descent. I'm only 1/8 Jewish, and I don't follow Judaism. Add my Mexicano Catholic father into this, and you know the hardheads in Israel are going to love me. *rolls eyes*

So, come be part of my personal tribe. I think of Azalais(ataniell93) as the real leader, but then that just me. *grin*

As a Southern person, people tend to assume that many things offend me. Jews, blacks, "furreners". Luckily, they're very wrong about this. And about most Southern people, since we generally aren't offended by those sorts of things nearly so much as people who are desperately impolite.

*grins* Actually, I work almost solely with Hispanics these days in my particular healthcare field (primary care for farmworkers). It's the COOLEST thing!!!! The women are always *so* nice, and the men are unfailingly polite. And they don't get impatient with me, even though my spanish sucks #^_^# In fact, they mostly seem to think that I understand more than I actually do. At first, I was a little nervous, because I hadn't done any sort of client-based services in YEARS, but once that cleared up, everything was just great. =D I've had a ball.

Oh, but, I suppose that's possible. ^___^ Not likely ^__~ But possible. Actually, I don't think it ever even occurred to me to make any sort of connection about your last name.

Prejudice is a strange thing. My sisters are both very blonde and blue-eyed. All American girl next door. The sheer number of people who go spastic on them over that is PHENOMENAL. Reverse racism is *weird*.

To my way of thinking that's as equally bad as the shit my dad had to take in Texas in the fifties. Racism is bad no matter who's facing it, including Anglos.

People keep forgetting that if one group is getting fucked over, their group is most likely next on the list. It's all a matter of which number you are on that list.
