Julian can be a bit obnoxious at times, but it was rather nice to see him saving the day... This is why I had a bit of a crush on him when I was six

My excuse is that I was six, and crushes then were limited to "I'd like to have an adventure with the Famous Five and if I was captured by gun runners I'd like Julian to rescue me..."

I have a very overexcitable Springer spaniel, who likes to disgrace me by chasing the squirrels in the local park, and I made him jump when I laughed at the rabbits 'taunting the life out of' Timmy. There's something in that phrase, maybe because it's so put-upon-human-like, that really tickled me. I laughed out loud. I LOL'd :)

Still loving this. Have been snowed under with work recently and haven't had a chance to read it over the past couple of weeks - now came back to it today to find there are 22 chapters. I still have loads of work to do, but it's raining, the spaniel is at my feet, I have a hot chocolate by my side and I am going to enjoy this excellent fic instead. Cheers Biskybat!

I've got an excitable dog too, half GS half BC and she would not cope well with the rabbits on Kirrin Island. Timmy is much better trained - although there is one occasion at least when George takes her eye off him and he catches one. He does drop it immediately though and it does something like 'scamper off unhurt'.

Lawrie annoys me, but at least she redeamed herself, rather, in Runaway Home. Did you say when this is set, by the way? (I may not have noticed as I was a bit distracted at the beginning. Idiot me.)
