I've been a bit off Bones fanfic recently (prob bc of where the show is going), but your lj-cut caught my eye and I'm glad. Reading this makes me ache for Bones and Booth in a way that is somehow theraputic. I love how you are getting inside Booth's head here... So thank you for sharing! I look forward to more.

I don't know wht I was convinced that this was gonna be the last chapter... Lucky me when I got to the end I realized that this wasn't actually the last one...

Well, the fic was initially supposed to be four parts... until it ballooned completely beyond my initial outline, lol.

Thank you for continuing to read and review!

This was another heart breaking chapter. I may require a stent if this keeps up. Leave it to psychopath Max to not even take the blame at this point in his life. I thought that was very well done.

This section caught my eye, but I'm not sure I agree with him:

He knows, godammit, that he should have been the one person to defy her notions about the transient nature of love, and ended up proving them instead. That by moving on, he made a lie out of everything he ever tried to tell her. But what the hell else was he supposed to do and stay sane?I don't disagree that it was necessary to his sanity to move on. I do question, though, if in moving on he made a lie out of everything he tried to tell her. He still loves her. He has just suppressed romantic love for her, basically at her request. Relationships really are a give and take, and if she wasn't willing to reciprocate what he was putting out there, then persisting in putting it out there would make him sad, stalker puppy Booth ( ... )

I'm sorry, but this just made me lol so hard :D

I don't agree either, but isn't it just like him to think so? ;)

Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

I don't agree either, but isn't it just like him to think so? ;) Yes, absolutely. Good old guilt ridden Booth. Could you just shake him a little to snap him out of that

Oh Ms Anna.
I am so loving this story. A++++
The mine field, as someone put it, that Booth is walking though is real here and so tangible I can feel it.
You are so talented.
I love your writing, and I love THIS story to absolute death.

You've sketched a wonderful scene here at the hospital, from the Brennan's fear of losing her father, to the cautious elation of his survival to Booth's fury at being called on the carpet. Everyone is perfectly in character; it's like they just stepped off screen ( ... )

The man has serious balls.

Ummm, yes, lol. And that was my favorite scene to write, just because I could totally picture Max pushing every one of Booth's buttons, and Booth's reactions. It was so clear in my head, so I'm glad it came off that way to you as well :)

I find it ironic that Cam called Brennan selfish in the premiere. We know from the finale that she essentially left FOR Booth, so that she wouldn't feel like they were holding each other back. That's what I wanted to convey here; the generosity of her heart in truly doing what she thinks is best for him, even if it's hurting her.

Thank you so much, sweetie!!!
