It depends on how far you're willing to move for work and if you're willing to keep the job you had in grad school for months to years while you look for work. There aren't a lot of full time openings in libraries and most of them get targeted by people that are already working part time in libraries. The pay is median to bad even in full time jobs when compared to other jobs that require a Masters. The worst part is that the full time market is unlikely to expand with retirements as full timers are replaced with part timer workers and people without Masters. I won't say you can't get a job in a library (only took me six months), but there aren't many. Now if you were thinking about getting that Masters and working in some other field it might be worth, but make sure that an MLS would actually be useful to that career path.
I'm glad you're OK. Also, the podcast sounds like a good idea. The Happy Fun-Time Show is missed.
On the schooling, you could consider getting an MBA; it's a little easier to get a job and you can use your fondness for efficiency and project management. Just remember not to spend 8 years in grad school. :)
Yay for super-awesome things!
Also, when we get the new house, you need to come visit. We'll have a spare bedroom. (Hell, you could almost move into the downstairs; it's that big. Not that I want you to move into the downstairs, but it really is a big space.)
We will be in KC next weekend Fri eve - Sun afternoon. Let us know when hanging out can happen. There needs to be rejoicing of super awesome things...but mostly liquor.
Thanks for the update. I'm also a cog with H&R Block (via a contracting company) doing their tax software support. I started back in September though I have some other things in mind near-future-wise.
