Oh the poor old Freet is certainly lucky to have a sweet mama like you to care for him in his dotage. Damm but I hate it when the kitties are old and their health is failing. Here's hoping the kidney diet helps. xo

poor kiiiitty! what kind of kidney diet are you doing? ours likes royal canin (the morsels! so fancy and delicious) but that's the only kind he'll nibble on.

Royal Canin was the kind he refused to eat. We have a couple of other brands to try. Picky kitties.

Oh Frito! Falling down the stairs, poor old man! You are telling me Trouble's future, I know it. Agghhhhh!

A while ago, both kitties had some digestive "issues" and the vet prescribed these probiotic packets that i sprinkled over their food. (Purina Forti Flora).

The stuff was liver flavored and the cats just LOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEED it. They'd eat cardboard sprinkled with that stuff. When I was trying to get them to eat raw food, which Trouble was not having, he could be convinced with some sprinkles mixed in. Not sure if it would work for Freet's situation, or if it's something that would be recommended long-term but you could ask your vet about it, or something similar to make the food more appetizing.

Ooh. Neat. I love stuff like that; it makes me feel like I'm doing something good for the keeto. Thanks for the heads-up.

Also, I just remembered that they tried to get Trouble to eat the kidney foobs when he was having pee-problems and he did not wanna eat it either. I'd bought an entire case and ended up returning it to the vet (this was before I knew about the liver sprinkles). These days I just feed him a wet food he'll eat and he's been ok (*fingers crossed*).
