Another night's sleep and I've simmered further. I don't think I can really blame her anymore. If, indeed, the problem stems from a lack of communication than it's my fault for letting her think that she can get away with it. I should've stuck up for myself more stringently. oh, trevor. *laughs* that blind date story is truly terrible. i think you SHOULD write a book.

and i think you have to make a choice. you either need to start acting like you believe you're a worthwhile human being and that you deserve people's time and attention, or you need to, well, continue being disappointed by mean things careless people who walk all over you do. i think you're right when you say you should be more assertive. but if it's a lack of communication problem, it's HER problem. i think you made your plans very clear. she has a problem answering her phone, which doesn't seem promising to me.

for some reason, i thought you didn't drink anymore?

I drink infrequently. I stopped all together a few times, and by all together I mean for months at a time. And then I get bored with sobriety. It can be fun to let cut loose and do something stupid once in a while. Also, philosophers around the world, such as Ikkyu and Horace, recommended the occasional (or not so occasional) indulgence.
