Barbasol is an old brand of shave-cream-in-a-can, and represents this with an old-fashioned label design of red and white barbershop style stripes. There is a green and white version, I think those ones are menthols. When you see Barbasol on store shelves next to the big commercial brands, it stands out as a more organic, small-production ( Read more... )

The green striped one is Aloe, and I've been a faithful customer for the last 3 years. It is one of the worst creams I've used, but then again I haven't used many commercial creams that can beat out gels.

By far the best I have ever had was a tube of Palmolive lather from Rite-Aid before they stopped making it. Seriously would have been worth breaking TSA regulations to take it back to WA. If you can find it, you really should get some. Also, if you aren't already familiar:

I tend to get a great shave with a normal storebought razor but I enjoy wetshaving, or rather getting a wetshave.

Well the way that guy talks about "wetshaving" doesn't refer to a specific type of razor, just shaving without an electric onez and shaving with basic preparation. And I hear what you're saying about storebought razors, I use a multi-blade myself. Although a couple years ago I would re-use bulk 99 Cent Store single-blade razors and I wouldn't get as close a shave nearly as quickly but my face felt much healthier.

I can't stand my dad's gel it's almost acidic. I'm actually ashamed to admit this but from moving around so much I've gotten big into the habit of only using water and the same razor. It's not comfortable but it's real fast and you can feel your way through enough to do it in the dark.
