Have you tried a prescription sleeping pill? I don't take them but I have heard from friends/family that they are good.

I'm hesitant to believe it'll even help me since most other perscription drugs don't. That, and I have to find a clinic that will help me.

They're right. Medical clinics DON'T treat insomnia. Psychologists do, however.

The fact you got sick and almost passed-out (to me) says this is now a medical problem and the clinic should deal with it.
Another option is going to a massage therapist. They're fairly common and usually resonable price-wise.
