Is there truly none here who actually enjoyed going to battle and having a change from the utter tedium of this place?

I found it most satisfying, but you humans sure do seem to keep on sinking to new lows.

The drafts are a good change of pace, though they shouldn't be sending non combatants to fight.

I actually agree with you on that note. Sending people who cannot defend themselves only hinders everyone else. [Though demon doesn't give a damn if they die, he just doesn't want to see them be unable to win a battle due to protecting non-combatants.]

Exactly. Having to split up the groups to have one protecting non combatants, takes away people who would be better out in the field fighting.

That was one fault that existed this time. The other was the lack of fresh troops and insufficient numbers. Seems to me if they want to win this war and use methods like that they should send those things used to kidnap us.

It would've been a lot more enjoyable if we didn't lose. [Lose, withdraw, whatever. The result's the same - they failed their primary directive. And arguably their secondary one as well, considering there were a few casualties.

...no, ν-13's not annoyed by how badly this draft went. Really. Why would you think that?]

[Casualties exist in war, and one of them was somewhat his own doing.]

We lost because that commandant is an idiot.

[Of course, but that doesn't change the fact that one of their directives was surviving. Not going around and getting themselves killed. Or engaging in friendly fire, for that matter.

...Whatever. She's not going to object to that statement. In fact, she's inclined to agree - she just won't say that over the journals.]

But, if you don't mind that... it really wasn't that bad.

[Certainly not as bad as some people make it sound. As annoyed she is about failing the directives they were given, at least it was a pretty effective way to take her mind off of other matters. Besides, it's always nice to get to fight more opponents that aren't battledome holograms.]

[Hey, he was a good demon and didn't attack anyone who didn't attack first. Not his fault Kain attacks him every damn draft and dies every other time.]

It was a good change of pace from the utter tedium.

Wait... so because someone doesn't like fighting that makes them beneath you?

Are you saying we should all dye our hair blonde too?

They already were. The incessant whining just brought them to a new low.

Is there anything special that makes us beneath you...? Unless you're going to tell me you're a mermaid, you look pretty human to me

There is plenty. But why should I tell some mere human this?

Ha-ah...

[ An almost awkward pause. ]

Are you practicing for a Sunday morning anime villain meet-up?

Oh, don't get me wrong, it was pretty cool! All that contempt for the human race and dark angst and atmosphere...

You might want to make it less cliche, though!

You assume that I care about anything besides how nicely they scream and bleed when I stab them.

[Oh Yuber, the oh so cliche JRPG villain which may as well be an anime villain really.]
