*There's a video feed, but all it shows is a black headband over the eyes of a heavily shadowed face. The shot was obviously planned to not reveal anything, and the audio feed's warped to conceal her true voice.*

It's funny, isn't it?

How there's this huge category in the D-Comm marked "Hostiles" amidst all the other social groupings around this ( Read more... )

... Aligning AGAINST them?

You just hold on ONE MINUTE!

Nobody is lining up against US! We've already set our sights on each and every one of those pathetic chumps!

... Or so Ravemon likes to think, anyway. Too many wildcards, not enough proactive elimination.

I guess a whole world IS harder to subvert than a kingdom and its surrounding provinces... and it's not like there's any universe-unlocking items of power out there for easy swiping...

Sub-par wording on my part. But DATS is certainly looking paranoid.

Still, if it's proactive elimination you want, I might be able to assist. Then again, in the right context, I might be capable of... "Realigning" some people.

You don't want brainwashing, not before a big war. Too complex, not enough payoff. You can ruin two or three fights, then the heroes wise up, and the revelation adds a bit of angst to the story. Nothing more.

Now, if you can get the big boss sorts, THEN it's worthwhile. You can ruin the whole thing in one fell swoop.

But that's only good setup material for a subsequent chapter, only if you're sure there's gonna be one. Otherwise, it's a waste of valuable resources.

Now, going after a few people, that might be worth it. Might even be worth a bounty, if you can hit a good, plot-relevant target. Of course, the challenge in THAT is finding one. War's never got central figures on the good guys' side, except a couple of the better generals...

Oh, you underestimate me. "Brainwashing" is entirely not my method. As useful as a boot-licking pet can be, I've got too many more typical pets to take care of.

Baaa.

... I told you to be quiet!

Hmm? Some kind of villainous pow wow?

Pretty much, yes.

Ideally, a ninja should never work alone. In my world, a team of three or four is considered ideal, particularly if that team's abilities are well-balanced.

More significantly, I'm tired of waiting for a chance to cause some real trouble here.

Just don't get your hopes too high for any significant amount of work. Other then causing chaos the recent history of the digital world suggests that even joining forces with one another or subverting key heroes to our side temporarily have done little to change the playing field.

Only a problem of not touching the right place at the right time, if you ask me.

Tell me, would you like to meet up and choose a place to cause a little trouble? I'm thinking a choice location in Neon would be just lovely...

...Woolen Spider? What, are you a fucking sheep with 6 legs or something? That isn't threatening at all!

Heeeee, maybe it's a Ram, Ram ram ram!

And what's with that low term. You say "deal with", I rather just kill as hard as I can! Besides, no better way to get rid of something than shoot it full of holes! But if you got the power to help me take out these idiots like the chumps they are, then I'm aaaall ears.

The Wool Spider is a species of spider that produces some of the nastiest webs of all. A perfect cylinder in a pit, it attracts with a pretty hook, then consumes those foolish enough to take the bait. Spiders are kind of a theme of my village, you see.

Killing is one thing... But I rather prefer my choice rehabilitation, given the chance. After all, an enemy turned ally is often the best ally of all.

Bah, that kind of strategy only works if you kill him too. As much as the blowhard he is, if the Earl was here we could be doing both! Kill the shit out of people, have some Akuma made from the remains, boom! Instant army with no chance of betrayal!

I like having people on a leash that EXPLODES them into NOTHING if they cross me or I get bored, thanks~

Not a terribly inefficient philosophy... But to me, it's just less satisfying than destroying their hearts and minds, until their broken remnants are my doting servants.

The arrogance of you humans is astounding. Your power must be proven, rather than merely boasted about.

A perfectly fair request, and one I am planning to work on quickly.

But what leads you to assume I'm a mere human?

I have observed your species enough to tell when I'm dealing with one.

Or one that is... close enough, at least.

"mere" is the word of concern here.

After all, some of us have the blessings of beings far superior to us, that in turn make us far superior to the typical, weak human who has to rely on foolish ideals.

It seems there is someone with true sight into the true affairs of this world after all.

Well then, Woolen Spider of Malcanthet, my name is Dr. Finitevus, and I would much like a meeting with you. I know of quite a few deluded heroes. Those who are corrupt and cannot see it.

Perhaps with our interests, we could work out a sound partnership.

Arrange a location. For my own safety and our respective secrecy, I'd prefer someplace very close to a lightpost - where we can arrive and return to our respective domiciles in quiet.

Lightpost is not the only way to travel, but if it is what you wish. I know of a lightpost in the Goc Desert. We can meet there.

[Attatched; Lightpost date for Goc Desert.]

We will not be disturbed there.

All is agreed upon, then. Do you have a preferred hour, or is sooner better?
