GOD i still want to go to some part of europe.

i was just remembering Everything Is Illuminated and how beautiful everything in that movie was, in the Ukraine, travelling the countryside.

i am thinking of sigur ros and i also want to be in Iceland.

france, ireland, italy, switzerland, greece, take me anywhere.

and............. go.

this whole story and its followup made me chuckle pretty hard. #1 because he (THE FATHER) was british/scottish and was coming to a crocs stand, and #2 because that is the perfect thing for him to say and i'm glad he wasn't afraid to say it.

That does sound appealing, however I honestly hear that the Ukraine is one of the ugliest places in Europe to visit... :(

But Europe is undeniably one of those places that we all think about in a romantic sort of fantasious light, its one of the only places that is unfamiliar enough that it might still be more spectacular than our current reality. Wouldnt it be amazing if it really was so...

yes.

which is, i guess, a little problem of mine - i always have things in my head a certain way, just the way i imagine them and want them to happen, and they are NEVER fulfilled. so i'm thinking that naturally, i would be disappointed in some ways.

but in other ways, it could be extremely refreshing and something i'd never thought about.

the people and what they care about just seem so different. naturally, not all of them, but it's something.

we can all think of our own reasons, but

why do YOU want to go to europe?

what do you plan on finding there?

i want to embrace the beauty of nature. i have seen a great deal of the types of natural beauty found in america...47 states or something like that, and i understand it now. i want something that is untouched, which is perhaps expressed in my desire to be on the moors of ireland.

i want something with a beautiful history; not a technical history with monarchs and presidents but great old things, like a cobblestone street in paris that chopin walked through.

i guess that it is the simple raw beauty of the idea of europe that i want to ignite my imagination.

i want to be somewhere where i can relate to barely anything, just be encompassed in a different world with a different language and people who act differently and know nothing about advertising or the type of music that i enjoy so that i can step outside myself.

there's more that i can't express, naturally. i can't really ever express myself.

but that is what i want.
