So it's been a theory of mine that has held true so far that celebrity deaths come in threes.  The one time this was challenged, there turned out to be 9 of them in a short period of time, so it held true, just several times

In a similar vein, the death of Groucho Marx went largely unnoted due to the fact that he died three days after Elvis Presley. I know which one I would have mourned more, had I been aware of such things then.
