Doing the dishes

Ten years ago today, I was doing the dishes.  I'd posted a happy journal entry earlier in the day, had lunch, and then I was doing the dishes.  My journal entry had been about reconnecting with friends, about finally feeling like I was getting away from stress, finding a happy place.  But there was still something on my mind

Uh, that hurts to read. What a shitty anniversary to celebrate, too. I hope you're not alone tonight - I'd volunteer to get you drunk or something, but it's my mother's birthday. We're going to take her KFC and listen to her ramble on about her pooping (complete with sound effects) and how her head got cut off by the men at the nursing home... Delightful.

If it makes you feel better - all men will get prostate cancer if they live long enough.

It's a stupid anniversary to remember, but the events of that day are etched in my memory. I have a busy night planned of work and keeping occupied, so I'll be OK.

Thanks!! 40 is much better than 30, except for my ovaries trying to kill me! I did treat myself to some home delivery, so that was nice :)
