Friday Five Things

I'm trying to post things more often, so starting a Friday "Five Things I am Thinking About" thing...

1.  Schadenfreude

The noose is tightening around Tr*mp, and while it is a pleasure to watch him writhe and panic, and to anticipate his exit... it's just depressing that this B-grade celebrity moron ever got elected to this office, and all the harm ( Read more... )

It's a real pleasure to watch Trump squirm, but I'm terrified that this isn't even the end of it. As you've said, they've already done so much damage...but I'm hopeful. I'd like to check out A Quiet Place - I grew up on horror movies, both of my parents are huge fans of the genre. These days I do all of my movie watching with my dad (my mom's in full-on hockey mode right now), but dad struggles with reading, so I worry about his ability to follow the movie.

We're heading into summer here and I am DREADING it. I don't handle the heat well at all. it was 60 degrees fahrenheit here not too long ago and I was already getting sweaty at work. No Thanks.

It's good to hear from you :)

The majority of the communication is non-verbal, so I think your Dad would be mostly ok. Even when they do sign, everything is so deliberate that the pace is very slow.

I had to look up what 60 degrees farenheit would be in celsius and, wow, you would not have survived our summer! We had quite a few days where it was over 113 farenheit, and whole stretches of seven or more days where it was consistently over 90!

I could always read what the subtitles say, though I worry that I'd end up annoying him/taking him out of the movie. Still, I might just suggest we give it a go.

Oh god yeah, it gets up to 90 degrees here ALL THE TIME during the summer. It's rarer for it to get to 100, but it's happened. 70 is my comfort range, if I don't have to do anything. I run around a lot at work, so even in the air conditioning I tend to sweat and feel gross. If it's over 113 farenheit wherever you are, I seriously fear for you all. HOW DO YOU SURVIVE OMG.
