I KINDA got through all the technobabble on that post LOL. All I have to say is that if there's someone for the job to get done, It's you. If I could help financially, I would. It wouldn't just be self-preservation, I'd be helping to keep all of us afloat. (I also know that the Travcast will not flood the server- be safe in that fact LOL).

As far as the aforemtnioned shitwad, there's something I tell my frineds and daughter, my being a kung-fu practitioner: There ain't no one above a good asskicking ;)

I am going to be calling in the format for the server on Monday or Tuesday (3-26 or 3-27).

Since I already in hot water with Bill and Blak for asking too many questions, I might as well be the one to ask this one. Once the server is scheduled for its reformat, do you have any idea what the station downtime will be? I assume during this time there will be no live shows or random cast, so I am sure this is of interest to everyone who is part of the station (both DJs and listeners). I am NOT asking for a firm date that things will be back up, just a rough idea of the downtime. I know there is no good date for this necessary work to be done, something will always get interrupted, so doing it as soon as it can be done is best for everyone.

I appreciate all the work that Bill and Blak do to provide us with the station. That can never be said enough.

I thought I mentioned it in the war and peace book, but apparently not. Sorry.

re-format of the machine can take upto 24 hours, and is on the server farm's time.
Reinstall of Gentoo is giong to be probably 2 days (maybe 1, but counting on 2)
After that, the streams will be one of the first things to come back up. and hopefully web will be back up that same day

So, total down time (best guess) is about 3 days before a stream is back up.

I was still in contact with her as things were still acting up during the shows, and was able to talk her through some of the repairs, but it did give me "some" relief.

Yeah, I bet she was able to give you some relief!

I appreciate your update. For the most part, I understand what happened and hope that you can get things running better again shortly. The down time involved will be worth it if that means a better dementia radio.
