Pie! You are great...and I enjoy reading other peoples' recipes. My single contribution to Thanksgiving dinner at Chris' house is a family size bag of Ruffles for the special dip she's making! oh well... I love having Thanksgiving there, and otherwise I'd probably be eating pizza! not that I would mind, really.

Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving too! It's nice that you have someplace to go. I was always grateful to Kevin's friends, who invited us over when we were living in Dallas and didn't know anyone else.

I'd love to get your apple crumble recipe one of these days. I think I read a journal entry where you were making it once.

Mmmmmm... PIE!!! ♥

Thank you so much for this recipe, I'll try and bake it as soon as I can (i.e. as soon as I find the time to go to the supermarket and get all the ingredients). Yum!!!
I'm not familiar with vegetable shortening, as here we use mostly oil, butter or margarine, but I'll see what I can do to find a suitable replacement.

As for the non-metric measurements, don't worry: I know how to convert them into metric ones and (hopefully) not make a mess! ;)

Thanks again and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! :)

Icon love! I need to get me a PD icon.

Over here, vegetable shortening is known by the brand name Crisco. Do you have Crisco? You can also use lard. I know it doesn't sound very appetizing, but it does make for a flaky crust.

You can find hundreds of PD icons over at thepiehole.

We don't have Crisco here, but our local supermarket is well-equipped, and I don't think it will be a problem to replace it with something similar. Lard is another option, of course. I'll see what I can do, anyway. And, in honour of Pushing Daisies, I'll grate some gruyere into the crust, too. Yum! :)
