if you liked the 1st pirates of the caribean, DO NOT see the second one. it will only ruin the whole thing for you. the plot made no sense, any connection you had to the charecters the 1st time is lost, i was confused most of the movie trying to keep up with their huge leaps from one thin plot point to the next, and it was all just a huge set up ( Read more... )

I understood the plot perfectly and enjoyed the film very much. I don't understand why so many others are having difficulty with it. Also, it broke the record held by Spider-Man for biggest opening weekend ever.

It was a bit convoluted. Or I was tired.

I loved it and can't wait to see it again.

No it's not as good as the first one but I still loved it.

My one biggest complaint, personally, is that they reused the same music from the first movie. With all that goddamn money they could've made some new music.

I liked it as well. The opening scene may have made more sense if they gave us a reference for how much time had passed between the first movie and the second (my guess is not very much). And time passed quickly during the movie even though it did not seam it due to how long it takes to sail from one port to another. As for the ending, this was definately part one of a two-parter. I did not know that the third movie had already been filmed until after seeing this one. Hopefully the third movie will come out near New Years.

The thrid movie has not been finished yet, and I believe it is due out in May of 2007.
I look forward to seeing this one, will have to rewatch Black Pearl first.

Actually, the second and third movies were filmed at the same time, just like Back to the Future parts 2 and 3. That is why I guessed at a Xmas 2006 release for the third movie.
