I was raised an auto worker's kid.

You wouldn't say that if you had a job at either one
--a family to support and it was in danger of disapearing...
It really is imparative that the auto companies
remain in business.
And that business has to change...
more fuel efficient cars, hybrids, alternative fuel engines, etc...
but thousands and thousands of families
and a good portion of our economy depends on it.

I am aware of the thousands of families these companies employ and I did not mean to offend you, or the millions who have worked for them, probably harder than any businessman would have to, which is part of the reason for my reaction. I am angry that they have come to a state were they need this rescuing because so many people's lives are riding on their backs.

It is imparative that the auto companies change... I get the feeling they could have begun to make changes sooner and avoided such a costly failure, but I concede that I know next to nothing about the auto business.

On a week overwhelmed by worries personal and global, reading yet another expensive failure pushed all my panic buttons, and I didn't have anywhere to go with it except angry.

I'm just tired of the disaster.
