To replace the gaping hole in my life left by the absence of Bob Evans (don't laugh), we have discovered Village Inn. A cross between Bob Evans and our favorite Coney Island in Ann Arbor (Alpha Coney Island), it is high up there on my list of favorite places to eat. After being so enamored with Cold Stone, I came to the realization that it's not really my kind of thing (ice cream with tons of foreign materials) plus having Ritter's Frozen Custard within walking distance of the apartment sure helped. Cold Stone Creamery has finally opened in Ann Arbor! On my first trip there, I decided to stick with the predetermined mixes on their menu and chose the Strawberry Shortcake = sweet cream ice cream, strawberries, and cake all mushed together. Not that I was thinking of shamrock shakes for the better part of the day, and yet the good McDonalds (the one with the consistently crispy fries and perfect burgers) ran out of shakes today! I consoled myself by thinking that I have already had three, which should be good enough to last until next year.
