Just curious: Would it include all mastectomy (and mastectomy like) surgeries or only those with confirmed breast cancer? I'll go and check out the bill but something seems off about this.

They can. :-) I had breast reduction surgery (which is one of the many reasons I'm curious. Would it have covered me as well?) and got sent home the same day as the surgery. I ended up with a bad bacterial infection and they had to re-stitch my surgical cuts two times before they even realized that it was bacterial infection. Finally, they gave me anti-biotics which healed the cuts but left scaring. If I had stayed for 48 hours, they might have caught all of this and the scarring wouldn't have been as bad... Of course, if the doctor had done is job and given me a low level anti-biotic before surgery, it also would have prevented this nonsense.

Wow. I can't believe they send women home so early. See? Although the circumstances are a little different, the bottom line is the same - releasing patients early from major surgery is dangerous.
