Isabel had been half dozing, half listening to one side of the phone calls.

During a lull in the calls, she opened one eye and peered at Wyatt. "Do I want to know who's calling and how they're related? Or is it going to break my brain?"

"Yup. Papa's kid is kind of a brat," Phyre confided. "And she shimmers. But Aunt Summer's kid is okay. She likes to play soccer."

No mention of alien-fu. Isabel breathed a small sigh of relief. "Well play nice. It's only for a weekend."

"Awww, poor brain," she teased. "It could be worse, you could be there and have to referee."

"See now, I thought the part about you and Ronan was more amusing. And I'm not even thinking about what she implied about Parker and I," Isabel snickered. "Because that just does not compute."

"I don't know," Wyatt grinned. "Might be kind of hot."

"How? I mean you and Ronan? At least there's some tiny bit of subtle attraction there. I've seen you flirt," she said with a grin. "But Parker and I? None at all."

"Chris and Johnny are apparently meant for each other, though," Wyatt said. "Considering they're always ending up making out with each other, and now they have a kid."
