Niko can be found, should anyone have any wish to find him, not in his usual haunt in the Mansion's library, nor in the cottage kitchen, but down by the river, sitting on a low rock and staring moodily at the water.

Eventually there comes a soft step in the bracken, and a shadow. "Catch your death."

"It isn't that cold, yet," he answers automatically, not turning. "What're you doing out here?"

"Not very much." He comes and crouches on his heels beside him, not too close.

Niko has a blade of grass between his fingers, and he's tearing it methodically apart, shredding it into finer and finer blades. "Why?"

A last task, after this unnerving day--peace in the water.

Gaheris crouches down by the bank and dips in his hands, murmuring in a slightly awkward-sounding combination of Latin and Norn.

Justitia glances sidelong at Gaheris, not entirely recognizing him - it's been a while, after all.

"...hello?"

He jumps--a bit, more of a compact little startle. "You're--oh." And then a smile strangely like himself, a little wry crinkle of a smile. "Hello."

There's a touch of recognition there, at least - enough to put two and two together and speak carefully. "...how are you?"
