I got this from Sara. One of the few journal spams that has really peaked my interest

The problem with LJ is we all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away ( Read more... )

Honestly, no... unless something happens to bring me into a moment of happiness, sadness or whatnot, I'm just kinda blank slate. The closest I can come to describing it is....
Have you ever seen one of those Zen writing canvas. You dip the brush in cool water and when you apply it to the canvas it leaves a mark that looks like ink. Minutes later as the water dries the ink marking fades away.
In a given day my focus is usually not on my mood unless something happens to move me into a state outside my normal circle.

Do you ever think about moving back to Chicago? Where else would you like to go?

I'm gonna go with... No. For every one thing I love, there are 5 I hate.

I'm a wanderer at heart so, that's a long list. I think the list of places I don't want to go is easier. Here's a list off the top of my head.

Japan, China, Eygpt, India, Italy, Denmark, England, Ghana, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, Ibiza, Brazil, Argentina, Greece, Romania, Tibet, Dominican Republic

It's a reminder that there is still a whole lot I don't know. It's taught me a lot about my capacity to love and do for others. Most of us understand unconditional love from the standpoint of being a sibling or a child. Being on the parental end is something completely different. Knowing that this little person is depending on you and sees you as their whole world.
Before Mara, I didn't really care what's going to happen to the rest of the world once I'm gone. Now, it's something I think about constantly. What things will I need to prepare her for? What can I do now to help make the world a better and safer place for her and the rest of her generation. She makes me care...
