didn't know our love was, so small,
couldn't stand at all..i have adored this song for so long, but only now do i really find myself really beginning to fully understand it's meaning. i used to be so, so afraid of the concept of "if you love someone enough, sometimes the best thing you can do is let them go." i thought it was a copout, where you ( Read more... )

The realization that relationships can be so hard to hang on to, and so fleeting - it's almost enough to make one give up. It hurts too much to become so close to someone, and then to have it slip away. There have been times when I'd wanted to hold on so badly I didn't think I'd live through it - but the more and more you lose, you learn how it feels and become use to it.

I hope you're okay, if you need to talk..you know.

I think it's almost indigenous to young people that they put so much faith into relationships of any kind, expecting it to last. But the fact is that they very rarely do, and it's not all that surprising, because the younger you are, the less you understand yourself (even less the people around you), and the more volatile your emotions and affections. And sometimes I think to myself how awful and how stupid it is to like people so much, only to eventually lose them, but at the same time, all the people you meet throughout your life who mean something redefine your expectations and who you are, and even if or when they leave, their departure does eventually lead you towards the person (or people) who will be there for you, who will accept you completely, and who you will like just as much (most likely more) than all the people who have gone or who were left behind. All that matters is recognising it. I think any love that is at any time given up on or had to be let go of just wasn't meant to be--and probably was not real love. Maybe I' ( ... )

I think everyone tries to "let go" of something, but noone really can. It's just always going to be there, no matter what, but it's nice to think you have. Me, I know I could never ever let something go, because I'm stubborn and am just that way. It could just depend on the person, either way, it's good to know that something is out of your life.

I hope you're okay. I had to read this post a few times to write a comment (I don't catch on too fast!). If you need to talk I'm here.
