I am going to Vanderbilt in the fall. It took a lot to write that one sentence, but yeah, I'll be going there. It came down to Iowa and Vanderbilt and while I liked both places about the same, I think Vanderbilt is going to challenge and push me harder and make me an all around better person. At least, that's what I'm hoping. It's weird, it ( Read more... )

I feel the exact same way about the whole following in older siblings' footsteps. I spent the last four years really differently from my brothers, but I still pretty much ended up doing the same thing. That's probably the low point in being the youngest child, at least in my opinion.

Yeah, I remember going into drumline freshman year and introducing myself as Lin's (my sister) younger brother and Mrs. Horner still tells me to tell Lin that she still uses her outline as an example for speech class. The nice thing though, is that you get all their insight and advice from their experiences.

When I was on a college visit, someone asked me if I was Eman's brother. Looks like no matter where I go, even if it is an hour from Ames I'm still gonna be Eman's brother. At least in my case I out-colleged my brother and didn't really have anything to live up to.

I've never actually felt like I've had to live up to my sister. My sister and I joke about it a lot but there has never been pressure on me to match her mark. I definitely out animed my sister though, guessing you too?

I share almost all those exact fears. I also chose Vanderbilt because then I'd have to start from scratch socially, but that's also something that's scaring me to death.

Haha, college has made me soooo emo lately it's not funny.

I too hope that Iowa will be enough to challenge and push me - I think the opportunity is out there though, I'll just have to look for it. ...at least I hope that's the case.

That being said, we'll miss you at Iowa! Good luck kid, you'll rock out at Vanderbilt
(plus, that leaves another scholarship I can hope and pray they'll pass on - oh wait, wishful thinking, lol)

yeah, Iowa's actually a good place with a lot of opportunities. You should do fine there.

I'd like to say I'm going to miss you too, but who is this?!

My guess is Meredith?
