My calendar says that July 17-18 is the day that we are doing the blogathon and this site says July 24.

Does your calendar not show these as separate dates? (Sorry. I had to say it. I am bored. Don't mind me. I will crawl back into quietness now.)

I had assumed that since the blogathon is usually run on the last week of July, that the LJ one was as well. I am mistaken.

You actually had me thinking I had it down on my calendar wrong which would have been a very bad thing as I have a prior and very important commitment for the last weekend in July . . . at least I think I do. In any event, it would have precluded my participation.

But my participation is already at issue because I am trying to find a charity and so far I haven't had much cooperation.

Hey, if you want to blog to help with leukemia & lymphoma research, let me know-- I'm fundraising and running a marathon, and would love to have someone blogathonning with me for the same goal. I'm set up for online donations and everything.

I think it's a good idea to go ahead and go with this site, just because potential sponsors will probably be more apt to donate with a site like that instead of just through a Live Journal site or something. KWIM?

I meant as a clearing house and organizational forum, not as a place to post. This site functions almost exactly like Blogathon did.

I'm organized enough by myself...

I do have to write to my chosen charity, though. They don't as yet accept online donations. If they can't, I'll likely go with RAINN again... but I'd prefer that the money go to my local crisis center, as they need it more.

Right, right. That's what I meant, too! LJ's fine for posting, but I guess I just figure something as organized as Project Blog would be more helpful in tracking everything.

But, hey, charity is charity and is good any way it comes. :)

i thought this LJ thing was going to be held in the last week of july as per usual... not on the same date as project blog?
