Exercise

I remembered the apartment complex has a fitness room and went this morning (I walked there, no less!). Started with the bike for 30 minutes, walked on the treadmill for about another 20, then back to the bike for another 20. While I did go fast enough to break a sweat, pretty sure my heart rate didn't go up very much, but I don't have a heart ( Read more... )

Don't over do it! You may have felt good but you might hurt tomorrow. If you do hurt, back the time down and ramp up over a few days. There's nothing like overdoing it the first day to discourage you from continuing.

To be honest I felt like I didn't really do much. My left hip and the bottom of my left foot always hurt (the Dr suspects I've developed plantar fasciitis in my foot). I am supposed to be taking the motrin every 8 hours, but normally only take it before and after work (12 hours apart) and mostly skip it when I don't have to work. I'll start taking it every 8 hours or so just so I don't get discouraged by the pain.

I did do the slow, fast, slow stuff so as to not create injuries. I didn't think about my stride when walking. I've walked with long strides for years because I used to have to always had to keep up with taller people. Now I do it at work because of a stupid time limit we have in answering call lights. Generally, though, I find I simply have preferred long, slow strides as opposed to short, faster ones when not exercising. Guess I have to change that except my hip seems to hurt all the time anymore, even after hours of not doing much of anything. I have to get back to the Dr. anyway, so I'll mention it then.
