Morning work-out and run accomplished, Dinah went back to her room to pack a few things for her trip to New Gotham tomorrow. She'd left a few *handwavey* messages for people to see if they were up for a day-trip to her adopted hometown.

New Gotham should be bracing itself.

Claire was being lazy today. She put aside her book and watched her roommate pack. "Going somewhere?"

"Just a quick day-trip back home. I was going to take Camille with me, too." Dinah reached over to pet her cat, and grinned at Claire. "Tomorrow night to maybe Thursday morning, at the latest. You going anywhere this week?"

"No, I talked to my parents, but we decided it was safer for me not to go back to California for now," Claire said. "I'm hoping to spend a little more time with Peter before he goes to New York, but I know he wants to spend as much time with Sam as possible."

"You're really gonna miss him, hunh?" Dinah asked, sitting down on her bed. "I'm sure he'll keep in touch. He knows what it means to you."

Claire nodded. "I'm mostly worried about him going through what my Peter went through."

Dying, though she wasn't going to say that.

"But you warned him, and he'll be looking for it." Dinah bit her lip. "And he's younger, it's not the same at all. Seriously, what are the odds?"

"I know," Claire said. "But it's hard not to worry. At least Nathan and Sam are aware and will help keep him safe."

"See? The future's not set in stone." And she still hoped that for Zack, too, although she wasn't going to push her luck by talking about it again. "You and Jon will have the place to yourself," Dinah said mischievously. "To do whatever."

Claire snickered. "What is it exactly you think we'll be doing?"

"I don't know," Dinah said virtuously. Then, only slightly more seriously, "But if I ever do need to know, tie something sparkly to the doorknob so I can go crash on someone's floor, 'kay?"

"I, uh... okay," Claire agreed. "But, you know, that isn't likely to happen for a long time."

[blondecanary]

"That's cool too. Now we won't have to talk about it if or when it ever happens," Dinah teased her. "You can do that for just alone-time with him too, you know. Since usually we're not stuck with Aphrodisiac Hormone Week."

Claire laughed a little. "If we want or need alone time, I'll be sure to let you know."

"Cool," Dinah said cheerfully. "You looking forward to new classes?"

"Definitely," Claire said. "Workshops were fun, but I'm looking forward to having real classes."

For as much as Fandom classes were ever 'real'.

"Some of them are still gonna be way weird," Dinah pointed out, then flopped back on her bed. "But I really liked Making a TV Show and Movies last time. They sorta counted as journalism and arts. I think."
