Author's Notes: Poor Kestrel, the social outcast. She likes it that way. Really.
Kestrel sipped the syrupy sweet punch as she watched Mark and Jade dance with the rest of the couples.
At least her sister looked like she was enjoying the school dance.
Sighing, Kestrel tossed the plastic cup and easily made the trash can from ten feet away.
No one was asking her to dance. The boys were all too afraid of her- thinking she would say no, or if the rumors were true, castrate them for daring to ask.
Kestrel didn’t want to dance anyway, she partly convinced herself.
She walked away and returned to the night, where she belonged.
