I've been doing a lot of reading over the last week or so.  I'm especially getting into two things:  metacognition and AD&D.  In terms of metacognition, and the research indicating that many aspects of metacognition appear to be implicit rather than explicit, I was reading a quote last night that really struck me:

The metacognition stuff is definitely interesting. It reminds me overall of the Taoist conceptualization of the world of light and shadow, and that there will be some things that are clear/explicable and some things that are not. Given that's been the case in much of the natural world, even as we've discovered more and more, it's no surprise that it's the case with us. Yeah! My head's been spinning quite a bit lately thinking about the eye of the observer and stuff. It's kind of fun but you can't operate heavy machinery.

If I ever decide to do something with RPG therapy, I'll be calling you. Those are some great ideas and observations! In the meantime, we'll just have to experiment among friends. ;)

Yeah, I can see how that'd be a problem. It can be distracting for the eye to try to see itself (especially the mind's eye) when you're driving in traffic...

As for the RPG stuff, I'd be interested if you do decide to do something with it. And, 'til then, gaming with friends sounds good to me! If nothing else, it's kind of like a roleplay in a skills class...it gives you the chance to practice some stuff and test out some ideas in a safe envirionment.
