I've been thinking about creating a manga strip for fun.  And because I recently purchased Manga Studio Debut at a great price.  It turns out that I'll need to get a graphics pen and tablet for the PC to really make use of the software ... if it gets that far.  I'm trying to create a few characters, sketches, and some stories.  The software doesn't ( Read more... )

Mentor? That's actually pretty easy. Someone who's a cross between Chuck and Finley from the Dept. would be awesome. He can be kinda scary looking, surprisingly mellow and friendly, and occasionally horrifyingly insightful.

Wouldn't a leprechaun work pretty well for a trickster? Just a thought....

Oh, one other thought was to change his first name to Patrick. After all, St. Patrick is the patron saint of the Emerald Isle, and it just sounds a little more Irish...at least to me.

Seriously, the mentor you describe would be easy to create. In their own ways, they were mentors for me too. I'll get to work on some sketches.

And I like Patrick... I'll also consider the book of names that some sexy person brought me. 8)

I definitely considered Chuck a mentor, too. I think if I'd have gotten to spend more time with Finley, he would've fit that role as well. That is one regret I have, that I didn't get to learn more from him. Ah, well; I'm grateful for what I got.
