It seem that this world can allow every other religion, but Christianity. Whenever someone says something about god, somebody freaks out and says that the pledge of allegiance can't be said in schools. If a Christian says they don't believe evolution can be taught in schools nothing would happen, even though evolution is a type of religion. So the ( Read more... )

I don't know about that. I've found that for the most part it's the other way around. Many (not all, but many) Christians are completely intolerant of anything but what they believe. I find these people to be much more closed minded and insolent. Those who are against religious ideas being taught in schools are simply trying to uphold our rights under the first amendment. If someone wanted their child to be reared in Christian beliefs, they can send them to a Christian school, but it is unconstitutional to force it upon everyone.

america was founded on christian beliefs and nop one is forcing it on anyone. alot of people stereo-type christian into forcing their reigion on others, but i the christians i know would never do that. the way christianity is taught can be miss leading, but in the end it all a choice. no one forces you to say the pledge or read the bible in schools or anywhere else.

I quite agree. I don't have a problem with religion itself. I believe that it has many good qualities and often leads people to do the right thing. However, when people get so caught up their own religion that they are not willing to accept andy other as valid, that's where I have the problem. I'll go ahead and say that I don't go to church and don't claim any religion as my own. I'm not saying that I don't believe any of it, I just would rather not identify myself as being in alliance with any particular religion. I find it frustrating that none of the religions that I've looked at seem to be willing to accept anyone other than those who mirror their own beliefs. I really wish that this country as a whole would back off of the rigid Christianity and allow everyone to believe whatever feels right to them.
