I wanted to go to St. Andrews when I was thinking about abroad. It sounds like a cool place, plus the research they do there makes it like the world capitol of studying gender, facial and body shape and evolutionary psychology (like the Dirty T-shirt study but with faces). Plus Lola wanted to go somewhere else in Scotland so we'd be sort of close. Downsides: 1. It's one of the best Universities (or "Unis") in the UK, and I get OK-enough grades at one of the many pretty-good schools in the US. 2. It's not Kenyon and wouldn't have people like you at it. 3. My mom basically told me it would be too expensive since I couldn't be an RA, but I think she really was afraid I'd get killed by terrorists, or at least mad Scotsmen. So I decided not to go. I tell myself it's because of #2, but even if there were no #2, #1 and #3 would still make it very difficult. I'm pretty glad I'm staying though.
Oooh, St. Andrew's. I was planning to go to Edinburgh second semester next year but sort of impulsively decided not to at a time during one of the love phases of my relationship with Kenyon. I don't know if that was the best choice. Anyway, you should go for it, even though we'll miss you in Gambier.
You think getting dumped on your birthday is shitty? Once, a leprechaun shoved a groundhog up my ass on Flag day. Man, that was the shittiest flag-day ever. You don't know bad-celebratory-days until your holidays get crammed in a blender and you get crammed with rodents.
That's not true!

You'd at least see me for the one weekend I came back when I return since I do get back November 29, although I don't think I shall immediately be driving down to Kenyon on that date seeing as 1. I'll probably be tired 2. You will probably all be on Thanksgiving Break. But thanks, the comment made me smile. Seriously, it was sweet.
My shitty birthday: The day I turned 17, my dad's girl friend moved in with him. She's 15 years younger than him, a french canadian actress (or is it actrice canadienne?), and their house is bigger and nicer than mine. And then they got married and didn't tell me. But that's beside the point. - Steph (who has no livejournal)
