Holidays can be sucky, so the thing to do is choose how to spend them. You can decide not to see your father. It sends a pretty big message, if anyone's listening. Next time (Xmas) you should pick a friend or family member who's company you cherish and go see them.

i hope things with you are going okay this holiday season. how have things been?

Things are good. Busy helping my daughter try and figure out what will make her happy. Being alone in Balitmore at college is not the answer. I see a change coming, I just hope it works out for her best advantage. Sometimes being young can make you short sighted - chosing friends over a career is only a good choice for a few years. She may end up back in Mississippi, but I hope she keeps at it with school.

ahh i see. well i wish all the best for you and your daughter. you're right when you say choosing friends over a career is good for a few years, and thats it. but when you're young, you dont want to think about having a career just yet. it makes you feel like you've got to grow up, and that can be scary. it does sound like a change is in the picture, but i;m sure it will work out for the best. :)
