Allergic Reaction |
cards_slash [2.666 words, NC-17]
Prompt: "Inspired by the anti-sex pollen prompt: Kirk gets whammied with some alien voodoo that simultaneously makes him incredibly turned on and prevents him from coming." Kirk's worst nightmare!
Alone in a Crowd |
d8rkmessngr [9.121 words, NC-17]
Summary: "They are never truly alone in a starship. It just feels like they are sometimes." Very interesting POVs as the crew observe moments when Kirk and Bones thought they were alone.
The Andorian Boy Band Solution, Just Dance, and A Lack of Color |
canis_takahari [3.303 words, PG-13]
1) The Andorian Boy Band Solution - Jim's addicted to So You Think You Can Dance, circa the Academy years.
2) Just Dance - Jim is less than thrilled by his latest orders in the name of promoting Starfleet.
3) A Lack of Color - Bones takes care of Jim in a wee bit of h/c. *sniffle*
Angular Momentum |
lindmere [8.624 words, NC-17]
The Enterprise is orbiting an anomaly and time keeps re-setting without their knowledge. Amazing dialogue and wonderful characterizations.
Atonement |
inell [1.730 words, R]
Prompt: "Bones is a priest. Kirk is his troubled confessor who keeps talking about his sexual habits and issues in confession. ...things happen that persuade McCoy to doubt his vows." Fits into McCoy's canon surprisingly well.
Bourbon and Southern Lace |
moonlettuce [1.389 words, R]
I was tempted to make the rating "O.o".
Belongings Belong to Those That Possess Them [Doom - Reaper!Bones] |
guardgal4eva [3.434 words, PG-13]
Intriguing scenario (although I'd like a better reasoning behind Sam turning up - where'd she get the extra C24? She only palmed one vial before returning to Earth.)
Blowjobtastic | Anon @
st_xi_kink [792 words, NC-17]
Yup, it's a PWP, the topic of which can probably be gleaned from the title. *blushes*
Can't Lose You [Doom - Reaper!Bones]|
mach1n3 [1.181 words, PG-13]
A simple, uncomplicated crossover, but fun. :)
Captain's Log |
mint_amaretto [1.440 words, PG-13]
They remember everything, you see, they just *look* like kids. Hilarity ensues as Kirk's draft of a log will illustrate. (Crew fic, but there's definitely K/Mc.)
Chickamauga |
toastandtea [~4.600 words, PG-13]
Jim gets to worry about Bones for a change in this wonderful fic that pays attention to medical details and has some spot on characterizations.
Closeup |
emiime [3.544 words, NC-17]
Kirk in glasses!
II.
Depth Perception [1.120 words, NC-17]
Bones rather likes Kirk in his glasses.
Citylights (and the Rest of the City!Verse) |
atomicskull [21.028 words, NC-17]
Summary: "The Enterprise is actually a fashion magazine and James T. Kirk is editor in chief." Word count is for all 5 existing fics (they're linked from one to the other). It's shocking how well this works.
Cliche Kid!Fic is Cliche | Anon @
st_xi_kink [841 words, PG-13]
Prompt: "Kirk/McCoy KID!FIC. I want blue-eyed, surly children running around the Enterprise" Spock asking, quite seriously, "Have you considered counseling for the child?" had me laughing. And the youngest's penchant for yelling, "DAMN IT, JIM!"? Yeah. Awesome. :)
The Cure for Anything is Salt Water |
the_dala [2.317 words, PG]
A very nice Kirk/McCoy fic, but with excellent appearances by the future!bridge crew as well. Takes place directly after the STXI movie.
"Damnit, Jim" |
yeomanrand [358 words, PG-13]
Sweet and hot and perfect.
Dancing with the Grimm Reaper [Doom - Reaper!Bones] |
miss_m_cricket [4.080 words, R]
Kirk and Spock find out about Bones' special snowflake status the hard way. I particularly like the interaction between Spock and Bones here as it's something you don't often see in Reaper!McCoy fics.
Deficit |
canis_takahari [2.731 words, R]
Summary: "Jim is never letting Bones go on another away mission ever again, even if he promises to keep his blood inside his body this time." Wonderfully in character.
Encore |
parachutecord [2.892 words, NC-17]
My love of this fic may partly stem from the fact that a few months ago I kept hearing the name "Karl Urban" and thinking he was a country music singer... who was suddenly cast in Star Trek. (Blue: "wtf?") Apparently, Kirk would highly approve of just such a situation. *g*
Epi Pen |
d8rkmessngr [7.829 words, PG-13]
Damn allergies keep getting in the way! Well done and very funny. :)
Every Mountain and Hill Shall be Made Low |
thalia [22.197 words, NC-17]
Bones has some accidental ESP and he'll be *damned* if he's telling anyone because it's *temporary*.
Fade |
canis_takahari [17.000+ words, NC-17]
"McCoy’s been an agent for a long time, and a young, cocky, obnoxious new partner is exactly what he doesn’t need, dammit." I loved it! AD Pike inevitably reminded me of Skinner (long suffering *g*) in a good way. Characterizations transferred nicely and it all worked out well.
A Failure of Make-Outs |
mekosuchinae [1.514 words, R]
From the author: "Rating: Pants, with intent to depants. Cussin'." Jim is higher than a kite. Bones is less than amused.
Falling Into You |
starcrossedtrek [562 words, PG-13]
Bones musing on how Kirk is like gravity.
Fantasies |
inell [3.490 words, NC-17]
Prompt: "Five people who had sexual daydreams about McCoy and the one who got to make their daydreams a reality." And those five have some damn fine imaginations, if I do say so myself.
Five of the Times Bones was Unexpectedly Naked (and One Time it was Expected) |
rose_aislin [1.421 words, PG-13]
A variety of circumstances, which I highly approve of in a good 5 things format.
Five Steps on the Path to a Shifting Destination [Kirk/girl!McCoy] |
azephirin [5.232 words, NC-17]
Summary: "You told me if I had my way I'd be bored. Right then I knew I loved you best." Academy-era. Sweet and wonderful.
Five Times Jim Kirk was Jealous of His CMO |
jain [1.968 words, PG]
Poor, oblivious Kirk. ♥
Five Times McCoy's Ex Realized What She Lost (and One Time She Tried to Get it Back) |
rose_aislin [1.563 words, PG]
Very good - a bit ouchy because of the POV, but it illustrates how Bones is a good man very well.
Five Times the Crew Defended Their Captain |
truthwritaslies [654 words, PG]
I think I'd like it better in chronological order , but still good, light weight entertainment in a compact package.
Four Reasons Why You Shouldn't Let You Best Friend Talk You Into Having Sex |
avetonitrile [2.415 words, R]
Funny and sweet. *g*
Friends, Without Benefits |
camouflagecamel [3.125 words, PG-13]
Everyone considers McCoy a stand-in for the wife the Captain doesn't have. McCoy's amusingly slow on the uptake.
Ghosts |
medie [1.065 words, PG-13]
Short, intriguing, a bit spooky, and good.
Green Girls and Southern Boys |
atomicskull [768 words, R]
There's never enough sexGod!Bones in the world.
Hands-On Approach |
emmagrant01 [2.590 words, PG-13]
A Kirk/McCoy PWP. *g*
Hand-to-Hand Combat |
cymbalism219 [1.411 words, R]
McCoy's not sober, but Kirk's drunk, and it should be noted that McCoy enjoys the bet whether he's admitting so or not.
II.
Psychological Warfare [3.826 words, NC-17]
Kirk may be young and pretty, but McCoy's been around the block and he intends to use it to his advantage.
Here Comes the Rumour Mill |
credulesque [~2.500 words, NC-17]
I do love aggressive!Bones.
Hide Your Feathers on the Back Porch [Xena/Hercules Crossover] |
crookedvein [4.231 words, R]
Summary: "Kirk says no to the wrong people but learns a few things on the way." Bones does look an awful lot like that Cupid fellow from Xena/Hercules...
The Honey of Hybla |
shrift [1.000 words, PG-13]
Funny, turning-point banter between Kirk and McCoy.
I Still Miss Someone | Anon @
st_xi_kink [1.494 words, PG]
Prompt: "McCoy gets seriously hurt and is dying, when he gets a visit from George Kirk, who tells him he can't die because Jim needs him." Gorgeous imagery.
I Weather it Out with You |
blcwriter [3.502 words, PG-13]
The ex-Mrs. McCoy is having a very bad day.
If |
medie [910 words, PG-13]
Fic is Kirk/McCoy, but it's a particularly good portrait of the friendship between Kirk, McCoy, and Spock.
I'm All Right and I'm Just Fine |
acetonitrile [2.987 words, PG-13]
Kirk finally reads Pike's dissertation regarding the Kelvin disaster and listens to his father's last transmission. He doesn't take it well.
In a Moment Close to Now, Heading Straight for a Fall, and Next Time You Say Forever |
thistlerose [35.653 words, NC-17]
I. Summary: Bones plans on spending his thirtieth birthday alone with his jazz, his bourbon, and a book. Jim Kirk does not approve of this plan.
II. Summary: McCoy finds out where Jim gets it.
III. Summary: After his ex-wife's death, McCoy is forced to leave the Enterprise to look after his teenage daughter. Under normal circumstances, this would be the end of…whatever it is he has with Kirk that's more than friendship, but less than what he wants. But the universe has other intentions.
An excellent trilogy that I highly recommend! Recced here all as one link (to the first fic) because once I started reading, I couldn't stop.
In All But Name |
pixelmayhem [2.677 words, NC-17]
Jim is a little slow on the uptake. But-! Once he gets there, he really gets there!
In Our Bedroom, After the War |
incandescently [12.019 words, PG-13]
Summary: "McCoy’s ex-wife dies, and her secrets pull him back down to Georgia. AU after the first year at the Academy" This really is awesome (despite anything the author may be worried about). The main OC is perfect.
In the End We Will Be One |
acetonitrile [1.765 words, PG-13]
Confessions over the communicator, and well done, too.
In Truth [Dollhouse AU] |
mint_amaretto [3.609 words, PG-13]
Summary: "It takes Kirk some time to notice that Bones is a little too good to be true." Bloody hell this one hurts! But it raises an interesting premise who's ouch factor would depend on where it went as a 'verse.
INAPPROPRIATE! |
tanathir [1.013 words, PG-13]
Prompt: "Five totally inappropriate things Jim showed up wearing during an emergency on the bridge. And one thing that was kind of surprising, but otherwise fine." (Scroll down to the second fill.) Hilarious with an edge of crack and a sweet ending.
It Ain't Easy |
vamplover82 [731 words, PG-13]
Prompt: "I want Bones getting on one knee on the bridge and proposing to Jim in the Captain's chair." D'awwww! Bones is wonderfully nervous. (Oh dear god have I got it bad.)
It's All in the Delivery |
july_july_july [2.412 words, PG-13]
"You have a bigger problem than being held at gunpoint by Ikkelian raiders?" Um, yes, actually - they do! Funny, well written, and very memorable.
It's Not the Fall |
medie [1.921 words, PG-13]
Bones is still learning to live with the stress brought on by Jim's adrenaline junky tendencies.

near_family [1.291 words, PG-13]
Yup, Bones definitely has Jim's number.
JIM CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER | Anon @

ethrosdemon [5.450 words, PG-13]
The nice aliens were only trying to help, you understand.
Kinetosis |
canis_takahari [5.566 words, NC-17]
Summary: "Bones is throwing up on every available surface of the ship when the inertial dampeners fail, and Jim decides to distract him from his motion sickness in a slightly unorthodox way." Works far better than you would think and is definitely grin inducing!
Land and Sea |
ennyousai_fic [8.421 words, R]
Gorgeous and well written! Set in small sea side village, McCoy is the son of a fisherman drowned at sea while Jim is... well, a merman. I really enjoyed it.
Lights, Camera and
Need |
anotherdance [6.239 and 1.763 words respectively, R]
Another excellent AU - this time McCoy is a freelance cameraman under contract to Enterprise News where Kirk is a reporter. ♥
A Marked Man |
d8rkmessngr [3.842 words, NC-17]
Warning: Memory of past abuse
"Five of Kirk's scars he didn't want to talk about, and the one time he told someone." Ouchy, but good.
No Dead End in Sight |
northatlantic [~10.800 words, PG-13]
An amazing character study of Bones through the years, specifically based around the premise that he's as much a genius as Kirk and the rest of the gang while remaining true to canon (as far as I know it). Very impressive.
Nowhere Seen[Merlin Fusion] |
queenside [1.479 words, PG]
A Merlin fusion wherein Kirk is Arthur, Bones is Merlin. Still doesn't quite work to my mind, but remains an interesting premise.
Once There Was a Way to Get Back Home |
the_dala [2.453 words, NC-17]
Summary: "'It was nobody's business but their own. That was what he told himself on the mornings he woke up in Jim Kirk's bed.' Or, Kirk and McCoy sleep together and then have the sex." Warnings are minor in implementation.
Opportunity |
inell [1.759 words, NC-17]
Prompt: "Jim, Bones and a random girl. Jim and Bones are in denial that the reason they agreed to it and are really enjoying it is because they're hot for each other. Academy Days." O.o
Posting Bail for a New Life |
andrealyn [9.155 words, PG]
A somewhat improbable beginning leads to a very nice AU.
Princess Kirk and the Dread Doctor Bones? WTF?! |
candycanearms [1.544 words, PG-13]
Yeah, I think you know where this is going. If not, your fandom cred may be recalled. Oh the tasty, tasty crack!
Proteus |
appelwagon [3.744 words, NC-17]
Definitely some mind fuckery going on here and it needs another scene to be a really great fic (and make the mind fuckery alllll better), but still pretty amazing.
Prove It [Kirk/girl!McCoy] |
silveronthetree [2.505 words, NC-17]
Academy-era, fun (comfort) sex. :)
Proxemics |
iconolatry [7.452 words, PG-13]
Summary: "The first time it’s a cultural misunderstanding. -- Five times Kirk and McCoy accidentally got married, and one time they did it on purpose." Just plain stupid cute. :)
Rapture |
shinychimera [~3.500 words, NC-17]
Admittedly, I'm more fascinated with the possibilities of how it begins (a kidnapped Kirk is brainwashed into believing he is an acolyte in a holy temple which believes in the holiness of sex) rather than how it actually does wrap up.
Restraint |
o_n_i_d [1.938 words, NC-17]
The flower sneezed on Jim and now he has a... problem. Which would seem to have a straight forward cure but, well, not so much.
A Revealing Alarm |
nextian [352 words, PG-13]
Prompt: "So, in uni halls of residence the 5am fire alarm test is great for revealing who is screwing who, who has the worst bed hair, and who has the most embarrassing pajamas." Obviously doesn't know a beagle couldn't wear curlers if they wanted to, let alone what Archer would be doing... er, nm. Amusing. *g*
Rituals Requiring Virgins |
jade_starlight [663 words, PG-13]
Jim never has figured out where his sex god reputation comes from.
Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, in Soviet Russia, Romance Writes You |
thalialunacy [7.584 words, R]
I love that it starts out in media res with Spock yelling because Jim's yelling. :P
Second Skin |
medie [36.000+, NC-17]
Medie outed herself as the author of this fic over at her LJ and I was going to wait until she actually posted it there to rec it, but, well, I'm impatient so I'll update the link when that happens. This is an approach that, tragically, I don't think I've seen before in a fan fic - the crazy alien machine turns Kirk into a girl and he doesn't want to change back. Not for laughs, there's humor here but it's not a comedy, but for far more complex reasons that I can't do justice to in half a sentence. Spectacular and I highly recommend it.
Seen and Unseen |
cumbalism219 [1.780 words, NC-17]
Pairing is, um, 'sort of', but the fic is toasty hot.
A Shocking Turn of Events |
cordelianne [2.251 words, R]
The unfettered thoughts of those on the Bridge of the Enterprise. This can't possibly go well. ;P
Sing About Tragedy |
dsudis [6.035 words, NC-17]
The movie's aftermath - empty dorms and coping - paired with that 'emotional transference' and Jim has so much more loss to deal with than just his own now.
Six Times Jim Didn't Talk About Tarsus IV (and the Two Times He Had To) |
sloth [2.472 words, PG-13]
Very interesting alternate time line spin - not in the facts as much as the consequences for Kirk. Light Kirk/McCoy - rating is for themes of starvation and PTSD.
Some Assembly Required |
d8rkmessngr [4.008 words, R]
Scotty's there as Bones works to free the Captain. Somewhat intense hurt to go with the comfort (thus I'm upping it to an R, but that may be overkill).
Space Pirate Jim and
Space Pirate Jim Meets the In-Laws |
graceandfire [2.618 and 2.822 words respectively, R]
AHAHAHA!! Bones is the sole heir of the galaxy's wealthiest family who is kidnapped on the day of his wedding by *drumroll* space pirates! This is my favorite kind of crack - a hilarious story with good characterizations despite being a certain remove from the originating universe. The sequel is, if possible, even more brilliant than the first!
Standby |
d8rkmessngr [23.238 words, NC-17]
Qualifier: Heed the Author's Warnings (and the description)
Summary: "He was glad Bones was dating again. He was. Really. But what Jim thought was good for Bones turned out to be oh, so wrong for Jim." This is soap-opera-esque, almost OTT, verging on emo!Jim, downright shameful h/c. Companion piece starts this Friday. *writhes in shame*
Stumbling, but Still Looking Hella Fine |
beneathabridge [~2.600 words, R]
"Hilarious" instead of "train wreck" thanks to an OFC who should be honorary canon. (Not that the rest of it isn't good, but she is the absolute perfect touch to this.)
Tea and Dinosaurs (in Space!) |
thistlerose [1.090 words, PG-13]
Summary: "To Jim's dismay, there's still no cure for the common cold. Fortunately, he's got an indulgent CMO." Also, the CMO is an enabler, but I don't think either of them really mind.
Temptation |
oxymoronic [2.192 words, NC-17]
Of course Jim touched the one thing amidst Bones' medical equipment that he was not allowed to touch. Bones isn't even surprised by this, actually.
Thank Pitchforks and Pointed Ears [Kirk/girl!McCoy] |
medie [1.537 words, NC-17]
Girl!McCoy in a remix of TOS "The Naked Time". Not actually non-con or anything like it -- they've both got the space pollen going on. This doesn't stop Bones from bitching about Kirk's timing. I'm surprisingly entertained by Bones as a girl. :P (Okay, so it's technically het in a slash section. QUAINT 21ST CENTURY CATEGORIES, OKAY?)
These Kids, They Lost Their Graces |
affectingly [9.329 words, NC-17]
Brilliant Academy-era Kirk/McCoy fic!! Characterizations are spot-on and the whole thing is wonderful.
This is a War, Not a Garden Party |
midnight_city [6.400 words, R]
Sequel to the
Postal Service AU (which I didn't have bookmarked? wtf?). Equally hilarious as, in this episode, Bones Screws Up. Great outtakes at the end.
Three-Date Theory's Getting Old |
breakthecitysky [3.757 words, NC-17]
Jealous!McCoy with a sweet ending.
Total Blank |
cards_slash [2.537 words, R]
Kirk, you see, is a virgin. Well, he *thinks* he is.
The Truth in Pretending |
geenoway [4.379 words, PG-13]
Jim's a little slow on the uptake, but he gets there eventually. Warning: May induce a serious case of the warm and fluffies.
Under the Same Sky |
the_dala [1.048 words, NC-17]
Same 'verse as
The Cure for Anything is Salt Water, with the same lovely feel, just a quarter of century later. Kirk and McCoy on an alien planet in the middle of nowhere in a quiet moment. Wonderful!
Unexpected Consequences |
crazywriter10 [674 words, R]
Bones is going to kill Jim. Slowly and painfully.
Untitled (The Bones as a TA Fic) | Anon @
st_xi_kink [1.581 words, PG-13]
Prompt: "So ... I once taught biochemistry. TO TWO HUNDRED PRE-MED STUDENTS. Anyone who has taught premeds know what that was like. /_\ Since I can't write this without descending into capslock, someone else write McCoy being a TA for some intro level class and taking great pleasure in putting all the medical track students through the wringer? Or hell, just McCoy as a TA at all. I can totes seeing him writing "WTF -1000000" in red ink on someone's homework." Brilliantly rendered!!

Untitled (Jim Pursues Bones to No Avail) | Anon @
st_xi_kink [3.611 words, NC-17]
[Abbreviated Prompt] "Jim realizes how totally hot his best bud Bonesy is and resolves to get the other man into his bed. McCoy is having none of it (Dammit, Jim! I’m a doctor, not a notch in your bedpost!). then Joanna visits and Jim is absolutely taken with the little girl. Seeing Jim with his daughter works better on McCoy than any pick-up line ever could." Straight forward and sweet.
Untitled (Joanna Walking in on Kirk/McCoy) | Anon @
st_xi_kink [1.400 words, PG-13]
Prompt: "Clearly, with Kirk's libido, he and McCoy end up in compromising situations in inappropriate places....more often than Bones would like. Can we have Joanna walking in on them, hilarity ensues?! Kirk is all 'oh oops hi' while Bones goes 'ASD:LKASJDL:KSJDD8'. This is absolutely hilarious and an overall brilliant fill. THE SPOON! *luffs*
Untitled (FML Fic) |
taleya [664 words, PG-13]
Prompt: "Today, after a night of partying, I woke up in the middle of my co-ed dorm lobby to the sound of giggles. I was in a thong with $1 monopoly bills sticking out. I'm a guy." K/Mc only if you squint, but it's Bones wearing the thong and Kirk's characterization is fantastic.

cards_slash [3.757 words, NC-17]
In the middle of nowhere (that is, Iowa), Jim and Bones visit a carnival where Jim decides to get a temporary tattoo. It's all heat and henna and sticky sweetness.
Waiting at the Gate |
the_dala [1.096 words, PG]
Summary: "'It comes as no surprise that Dr. McCoy accompanies the captain to the transporter room.' Or, Spock experiences the phenomenon commonly known as déjà vu." Most of the word count is for a single kiss!
Warmth |
callieach [2.680 words, R]
"Five Times Kirk Crawled Into Bed With McCoy and the One Time It Wasn't For Sleeping" D'awww! Okay, there's some minor fretting but it's basically a nice little squishy fic.
Well, I Heard... |
andrealyn [2.320 words, R]
Everyone thinks Bones is quite the open minded boyfriend, considering how much Jim gets around. Jim's a little slow on the uptake.
What is it About Men? |
ken_ichijouji [919 words, NC-17]
Lemme just give you the prompt on this one... "We've seen the fics where Jim is the wild one in bed. He's insatiable. I would love to see the reverse. It's been a LONG time for poor Bones what with the divorce and all the nastiness before it was finalized. I want all that frustration there when they finally get a clue and get together. Bonus if Jim wonders about what he's gotten himself into. ;)" (BONES FTW!)
What the Heart Sees |
near_family [6.622 words, PG-13]
Prompt: "Because of alien hijinks everyone on the Enterprise sees Captain Kirk as the person they love most. Except Bones. Who just sees Jim." Amusing and good, but what's especially wonderful is the memory of what Bones is seeing.
Where Will You Be When the Lights Go Out |
sarka [4.174 words, NC-17]
Prompt: "I want a fic where behind closed doors, McCoy isn't quite as wholesome and squeaky-clean as everyone assumes he is." It's *Sarka*, which is my new shorthand for "of course it's good, I don't care if it isn't your kink/canon, go read it anyway and do it RIGHT NOW". (Light bit of D/s, but it really, really *works* - seriously.)
Windfall [girl!Kirk/McCoy] |
withthepilot [~1.400 words, R]
Jamie and Bones play poker. All I've got to say is that Uhura's gonna be coming into a lot of fruit baskets.
Wonderland |
canis_takahari [13.252 words, R]
Summary: "No matter what AU they’re inhabiting, Jim and Bones always come together. Jim and Spock need a Federation doctor, so they kidnap a man called Leonard McCoy." Wonderful!
Working Title: Enterprise |
fishspots [~30.000 words, PG-13]
An AU that drops the Enterprise crew into a life of movie production, some as actors and others behind the scenes. It began life as a prompt over at the Kink Meme which included "He's currently filming his newest project, but the only problem is that he and the supporting male lead, Leonard McCoy, have so much sizzling chemistry that it completely overshadows any chemistry he has with the female lead, Nyota Uhura." It works exceptionally well and is an all-around amazing AU. (You'll probably want to go with "?format=light" at the end of each section's URL, but it's very, very worth it.)
Worry |
hihielmo [594 words, PG-13]
Prompt: "Five things George Kirk's ghost saw that made him worry about his son. And one that filled him with relief." Warning: Attempted child abuse. As long as you can deal with that, it has a wonderful ending.
