you think you know how it feels? we know nothing.
we have nothing to compare to this.
my most horrifying moments are ones these women would scoff at.

read this, dont fucking ignore it like most do when they see something that is painful.http://hotzone.yahoo.com/b/hotzone/

Oh my god, that made me nauseous.
What can one do to help something like that?

i think about that a lot

here are some things ive thought of:

-join the peace core (or another group like that)
-donate money to womens groups
-sponser a woman (theres this organization that you can do this or donate money - alise if you read -this comment you should tell us the name of it, i forget)
-inform americans about this tradgedy whenever you can, i bring it up, and things like it, enough to be considered annoying
- help out at planned parenthood and/or other AIDS prevention groups - (this helps the US obviously, but dont think this shit doesnt need to be prevented here)
- consider teaching, or another major that lets you travel and help in places like this or inform at least
- WRITE TO BUSH and other gvt officials - ask them for help. I was thinking of writing a letter myself actually and asking people to sign it, if anyone wants to help me write it, thatd be great.

if anyone else knows any other way to help, post a comment!

wow... i agree with Brooke. after reading this i had this terrible feeling come over me.. nausea mixed with anguish. it's amazing to see how some of the women could keep the children and bring some light to such a dark and miserable situation. that really makes you appreciate the life most of us lead.. too often we take it for granted.

where do you find these articles? just on Yahoo News? if you have some time.. would be willing to send me some links to websites that deal with these sort of stories? i'm interested in learning more about it.

i found this on yahoo news, yes. but mostly i just keep an eye out for this kind of news... online i check yahoo, cnn, msn, boston.com, and sometimes courttv.com and bbc news... reading the paper (boston globe, lowell sun, boston pheonix, eagal tribune) and watching the news also helps... if you want pure women related news i guess you could check out feministcampus.org but im not sure they always showcase news like this, or more of american college-age feminist news.

thats a good question, does anyone else know any websites to go to?
