Why the heck do so many people write about themselves? I can see why someone who's old and has lived an exciting life would want to write memoirs, but someone who is in their early 20's talking about the same old shit everyone goes through. So it was a bug after all. If funny how when were kids we see everything as bigger than life. Every blemish, embarassing moment, and rejection is the end of the world. This story was too funny. I like this essay. I like that he's basically saying that when writing essays you can throw out most of the "rules" they taught you in grade school. Essays are about the writer. This is a funny one. I think everyone from time to time has found themselves like the reader in this story. On stage, nervous as hell, worried about missing a line.
