I like all your prospects except the cabled vest. Cabling is pretty, but that design in particular seemed like it added 10 pounds to everyone modeling it.

I agree, now that I really look at it. I think I've decided on the one with the fold down collar. I'll have to modify it a bit, as it asks for chunky yarn. But I think it's doable.
