COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- In early November, Steve Mason was just another promising minor leaguer.

Now he's the hottest goaltender in the NHL.

The 20-year-old emerging star also has given hope to the once hopeless Columbus Blue Jackets, the only current NHL franchise to never appear in the postseason. (full txt here)

Yes, it's true. And I think if they do not make it this year they tie the Capitals record of non playoff appearances.

I believe Florida's last appearance was in 2000, so they're there with us. They might actually get in this year. But yeah, literally every damn CBJ-related article just has to mention that.

I don't know about "hopeless" either. There was hope last season, until the last week. When it was ripped from our chests and the last possible moment, almost. I hate the lack of understanding and respect that our team gets in the wider media.
