It's the first of September. Things are going good enough considering I'm still stuck on Sand Hill waiting for orders. I have my assignment, which is Ft. Drum NY. It could be worse, like Ft. 10th Mountain, eh? There are definitely worse assignments, and better ones. I hope you don't have to deal with crap like the guys of the 82nd are famous for pulling. You're a trained killer and having perfectly shined boots (no longer a concern, but you get the idea) isn't your top priority on the field.

This Nikki girl sounds cool. What's her MOS going to be? They usually send 70 series people to Jackson, so it can't be blatantly administrative.

I once had a girlfriend named Nikki. Nikki Jo Cox. She was cool, and I let the stress and frustration of my life at the time (waiting to get out of the army) get to me and messed things up with her. Strange but true, she was a lesbian before dating me and I was the first guy she ever dated. I hope that doesn't have some type of implication of my being feminine. I've been thinking about her a lot the last day or two and didn't know why. Now I know it's because you mentioned the name.
