As a morale-building measure (or at least a distraction), my work husbands and I have been taking turns cooking for each other once a week or so.  It's my turn Monday and they asked for tiramisu.  I used to watch my mom make it and it didn't look that hard, and I am following the recipe without improvising even a little bit, so why am I on my THIRD

I ended up getting so impotently pissed off at the stupid thing that I finally just put instant pudding mix in that shit to thicken it up, so all the niceness was canceled out. It still tasted pretty awesome, I just felt like an idiot losing to a dessert.

"Picked up," ahahah. Hahahahaha. Kind of. I wouldn't really say I have what you'd call a discerning palate; that gets to be a pretty expensive hobby. I have generally crappy taste in alcohol, but I like to think that makes me low-maintenance.
