I think one of the main problems that we see when we think about cultural studies is the subjective background to it, something we discussed several times in class. After reading the Ramamurthy and Storey articles, I understand that Cultural Studies is principally a study of what different texts really say and reflect about our society. Every image, written work, magazine ad etc. is borne and interpreted with some bias, first created by the producer (how they frame the image, what they include in their work) ( Read more... )
